"Alte Vette" (in English, 'HIGH PEAKS') is LBAA's first project. In 2010 High Peaks started a schooling project in the Mustang region of the Himalayas. Francesca and Ketty set up schools for girls in this isolated Himalayan region. In this corner of the world, young girls are immediately put to work, helping to support the family, which means they miss out on essential schooling and the carefree years of childhood. While respecting the thousands of years of history and strong Buddhist culture of these people, the High Peaks project aims to give these girls the chance to grow up with peace of mind and with the necessary schooling, so they can look at the world through the eyes of someone who has gained a clear perspective.
